How to Choose Your Weighted Blanket
A common guideline is about 10% of your body weight. Slightly heavier can feel cozier; lighter is better for kids or if you prefer less pressure.
Your weight - Suggested blanket weight
- 100–130 lbs -10–15 lbs
- 130–170 lbs - 15–20 lbs
- 170–220 lbs - 20–25 lbs
- 220+ lbs - 25 lbs
If you’re between ranges, choose the weight that matches how much pressure you like (lighter = less pressure, heavier = more).
Match the blanket size to your mattress so it doesn’t hang too far or feel too small.
Bed size - Typical blanket size
- Twin - 48" × 72" (throw) - Good for one person, couch, or travel
- Full - 60" × 80" or 48" × 72" - Throw works for one; full/queen size for full coverage
- Queen - 60" × 80" - Fits one or two; full queen coverage
- King - 80" × 87" or 88" × 104" - Full king coverage; 88" × 104" is extra roomy
